After assembling, and plugging in, it did not turn on. I thought it was broken. I looked at the instruction manual. It did not explain how light goes on. There is no power switch. After plugging, unplugging, dissabling and assembling for more than an hour, it finally turned on for a second or two and then off. I almost returned it. It's on now, but for no reason, it turns off. Within 20 minutes, it went off twice.
Also, the lamp shade was damaged and had indentation in 2 locations. I tried to fix it, but they're there permanently.
The lampshade goes on crooked (not parallel to the surface). I tried to fix this too, but could not.
I will use this until it breaks but only because I don't want to go through the process of returning it.

Love it. Easy to use and perfect additional lighting. Doesn't take up much space on your table.
